For many years, I have journeyed through a narrative that weaves figurative elements with abstract visual concepts. All these elements become a metaphoric voice, capturing the balance between intimacy and distance. My paintings are an extension of my identity and culture, they are an interpretation that questions the permanence of the world that surrounds me.

This body of work embodies remembrance and nostalgia in a constant struggle for cultural resistance. These paintings offer a rendition of my roots and devotion to my culture and traditions through a singular female figure that symbolizes the spirit of the land I left behind. I am interested in the intricate connection between the past, present, and future and how they transform our lives. I started working on this project as a way to preserve connections with my native land and the importance my culture and traditions have in my personal and artistic journey.
